Hi All,

I have a problem with the car stalling when I dip the clutch. Not all the time but getting a lot more frequent. However when the air conditioning is on it never stalls. Trouble is the air con is now broken. I have read that it could be the TDC sensor but not sure if this is true or where this is located. Anyone got a pic to help or any other ideas

Cheers

Check your ICV (stepper motor) Search will tell you all about this. The FAQ's will tell you how to find it and cleaning it is the first step.

Already replaced that and it made no difference. Thanks though.

Try unplugging the power steering sensor (blue clip on a pipe down between manifold and radiator towards the passenger side. It wont do any harm and its free to try.

Why would the air con being on make any difference? Very odd.

Because when you have the air con on the car revs higher as it uses power to stop it stalling... Thus keeping the revs just under 1k.

I think I tried that a couple of weeks ago but I'm going to try again this weekend. I'll keep you informed.

Just removed the Power Steering Sensor as suggested and done an ECU reset. Going for a drive now so will let you know my result.

Been out for 2 day trips now and so far the problem is a whole load better. Stalled twice when parking, although I was on full lock so I guess that would be when the Power Steering sensor would do it's job.

Guess I need a new one.

Thanks for the suggestion.
