Car: Peugeot 306 XSi 2.0 16V Phase 2[

I think my car has an idle control valve (stepper motor) problem. It has a bad idle and stalls intermittently.

I unplugged the electrical connector on it last night before taking my car for a drive and my car was fine. It did stall once but no where near as bad as usual. The idle sounded calm although it revved a little more than usual now and again.

How is it possible to drive with it unplugged?!

Is it ok to do this?

I have bought a new one and it will be delivered on Monday but want to keep driving my car if it is ok to.

Anyone know?

Thanks,

Colin.

I was going to take it out and clean it but thought I might as well buy a new one so will wait to take it out then.

One of the star bolts is easy to get out but the other one is underneath it and looks like I'm going to have to remove several other pipes etc. to get to it.

I'm in Hanworth (near the library).

So do you think it will be ok to drive with the electrical connector off? Feels weird because it makes me think the ICV is unecassary haha

To be honest I'm not sure if it'll be ok...BUT, if its broken its not doing its job anyway, so by that logic I think it should be ok Unsure

When I removed mine it was pretty easy, did use one of those flexible/twisty attachments that allow access to hidden bits.

I'm only up the road (Sunbury Road/Snakey Lane) if you need a hand Happy
