speedo306 Regular Location: Trinidad & Tobago Registered: 05 Apr 2008 Posts: 478 Status: Offline	Post #1 i had a 1.6 engine and ecu i converted to a gti6 (and ecu) however when i hook up the car to the computer it is not reading the gti6 ecu. How can this be fixed?what can be the problem? do i need to put in any additional fuses or relays? ________________________________________ RJ

ablister Senior User Location: fife Registered: 30 Oct 2005 Posts: 522 Status: Offline	Post #2 to read the ecu with a fault code reader, the 16 pin diagnostic plug only connects to 3 pins in the engine ecu (the other plugs are for lives/earths, abs ecu etc). Are the pinouts different between the 1.6 ecu and 2.0 ecu for the diagnostic plug? A wiring diagram should tell you. ________________________________________ 306 rallye, Richard Longman engine rc10gt
