Has anybody broke one of these before? i was taking of my belt and was applying a wee bit force on it and it totally just snapped where you but the 3/8 drive bit in, ended up with a sore hand!

ive seen a few broken you have to remember its only alloy and that spring is pretty powerful coupled with the fact its probably full of shit off the road wouldnt take much to break.

I'm good at breaking auto tensioners it would seem the two cars i've touched this month Mine and an A4 bust the pair Laugh

Easy to do they are only cast and if the tools not in properly you're asking for it. To make you fel better on the Clio i punched the head while in full swing on it when it let go Doh Thumbs down It f*cking hurt

i done it with engine on the bench, so had no excuses for tool not being in right or that, i was only using a 3/8 ratchet aswell, never mind, i have a spare!!

mine wasnt seized but the spring was so powerful i thought i was going to pull the car of the axle stands.

The ones on th A4 are a pain to change as well, made of cheese I think
