right, we just put new valves and followers in my engine, had it all timed up by ex janspeed mechanic and fired it up and still tapping - thought yeah needs to bed in and get pressure up, but its up to full operating temp now and still tapping what else can it be?

Valve guides it always is Sad

Or could be slipped crank pulley - follows was a waste of money have never seen one that needed changing Sad

all 16! guides were only done 2000 miles ago Sad

mines been taping since i got it in 2005

i fixxed it by getting louder tunes on the go Whistle

yeah seats recut, thats the only thing i can think of that could still be bedding in.

The guides were left alone this time. followers were high end aftermarket ones. but shouldnt give any noise still.

It may be the case that when the head was refitted you have caught a couple of the valves, have seen this no end of times and its a case of the owner or mechanic nearly crying.

It looks like you will need to remove the head again fella.

yeah i wondered that but i was very careful putting it back on. and the crank was locked in position.

Did you time the cams up properly and lock them before refitting?

YEP ALL LOCKED INTO POSITION. APPARENTLY THE GUIDES COULD HAVE BENT SLIGHTLY WHEN THE VAVLES BENT SO COULD BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT - Doh bloody caps lock!
