Hola,

So it's my first attempt at fixing something on the car myself, rather than taking it to the garage.

Those of you who are used to doing engine rebuilds with your eyes closed will laugh at the severity of my problem.

I'm trying to get the ICV out - and I found the instructions on how to do that in the FAQ.

The point the FAQ overlooks is how to pull off that black cable above the 10 mm bolt which holds ICV in place.

Does it just come it off with enough force is it of some weird clip-on variety? I don't want to break anything.

I realise that point was overlooked because it was too pretty basic, but I'm super-basic, so I appeal for help.

You may stop laughing now.

It's got a clip on the end. Push the clip in and slide it off Wink

^^ almost where the tip of the arrow points. Looks like a little button.

This is the vacuum feed to the brake assist, make sure it is connected back properly.

I'm not so sure you really need to remove it tho bud - doesnt give you that much more space. Throttle cable, sure. I suppose it depends on what tools you have

Update:

bought a $10 set of sockets, took out the ICV, cleaned it, put it back in, was kinda expecting the engine not to turn over at all...

but alas - it did, and the idling problem was solved. Yea! First time I pulled something off the car.

Experiencing delusions of grandeur at the moment. Now going to start offering expert advice looking down upon 'noobs' here Wink

Kidding. Thanks for all your help. The FAQ was very helpful.
