I take it the spacer in the caliper can be machined down to suit any width disk??
When you've had a proper look at them could you post up the maximum size disc you could fit in them when fitted under a cyclone please. I may be interested in just a pair of calipers if you think you can fit a decent size disc in. Cheers allan

You can fit up to a 330x30mm disc in them fella.

I realise that buddy, I would be looking to make up my own brackets and some ally bells and rotors, i'd ideally like them to fit under cyclones but I want at least a 300mm rotor. I thought that onced you'd had a play you may be able to tell what the maximum possible disk diameter would be under the cyclone. Sorry i'm p*ss poor at explaning things. Al

Hi mate, I think you may struggle to get 300mm rotors under cyclones, although I wont say its impossible.

The biggest factor is the clearance from the caliper to the inside of the wheel at the base of the spokes I have found. That will depend on the size and shape of the caliper, and how far you can offset the whole rotor/bell/caliper assembly into the arch. The limiting factor with that is generally the balljoint though as it hits the rotor after about 13mm iirc.

How I am getting over this as I need to run 16mm of clearance for my AP calipers is to use a larger bell (8" P.C.D. instead of 7.5") and then the ball joint just sits inside the rotor.

My setup will run on 310mm rotors, and will fit under most 15's, but still wont fit under cyclones. I may be able to space the cyclones off a small amount to get them to fit, but ill worry about that possibility later on.

Bit of progress on these but on the larger version. These are for 17 inch wheels.

Can do-
Ap calipers (tvr ones as above)
335mmx28mm rotors (Brake disc's)
DS2500 Brake pads to suit
Brake lines to suit
The brackets for the calipers to hub
The bells (centre to attach the brake rotors to)

Basically a complete kit with everything needed to fit as diy.

Looking for

Carl is there any way you could get the proper AP writing on the calipers, like the one below -

Or is TVR or nothing the only option?

I doubt i could put ap racing back on there, but i am sure we could put gti6/peugeot or something like it on there for you.

To remove the tvr we will have to have it machined off then start again with the new writing but obviousley we have our limits.

Cheers, Carl

I think you can buy the Ap racing decal as a sticker from the bay and just stick it onto the caliper once you get it Dunno

Sorry for the OT here Carl!
My thread on fitting AP racing CP3307 calipers with 310mm rotors under 15" wheels.

I did trial fit my cyclones over the setup too, but they wont go over just yet. Im guessing at the moment that I will need about 15mm spacers to get them to fit, which I would rather not do. (although I have not measured for spacers yet)

Anyway, back on topic.

Sounds like a great price for an AP racing setup there Carl, I will be interested to see what size rotors you squeeze in there, especially if they fit under cyclones!

Doh

Think I may have got carried away with myself.

I was under the impression that the caliper you were using was the CP5200, not sure how I managed that. Erm? Laugh

So, your brackets would be totally wrong for the calipers I want to use. Sad

Sorry Carl, should have read the thread properly.

The brackets are not too hard to design yourself stu once you have the disc/bell you will be using in the setup Yes I designed my own brackets for the CP5200 caliper and then got them made up by a local machinist Smile

Do you buy Practical Performance Car magazine? I think it was last month (or could have been the month before) they had an article about making brackets to fit different calipers to different cars. They used an old Audi Quatro and fitted Willwood 4 pots to it. Worth a readSmile
