According to Peugeot it a: PAD CAPACITY 1957 46

I believe it's like a little buffer to smooth out the vacuum being sent to the Map sensor but I could be completely wrong.

I've been to the local Bosch dealers to see if I can get a replacement MAP sensor and they phoned Bosch up but they weren't being very help full and said it's a dealer only part (so new ecu basically

ive heard its to smooth the flow out too, think 'swirl pot for air'

i have about 5 of them in the garage from when i had map issues. eventually i replaced the ECU with another from the same year car / spec and it was fine. there is no 'sensor' as such but it picks up the reading from the outlet that is on the ecu if you pull it apart. if you have map issues i think you need to try another ecu or have it repaired

There is a map sensor but its soldered to the circuit board, I was going to desolder it then get a replacement unit from another car (i'm hoping the gti 6 one is electrically the same and solder some wires to the circuit board and then fit the map sensor out side of the ecu. whos ever idea it was to put the map sensor inside the ecu and not do a relacement wants shooting.

doubt its the map sensor causing the idle issues, more likely to be the idle valve.

Try ebay - I got one from Germany (brand new) for ~5 euros... also, you can try http://www.syntech.hu - Gabor Arvay (arvayg@syntech.hu) is someone I know who actually did mention swapping the MAP for another one.

As the others said - but it being there does nothing, as I did not have it when I swapped the engine and could not notice _any_ change when I put one in.
