New to this forum, so saying hello to everyone.
I have a 406 coupe but the engine has died and needs to be replaced.
Does anyone on here know if the engine and gearbox from a GTi-6 will drop right in.
Many thanks

Early one, so a D8 I think, with a 2.0 engine. |

I'll speak to Welshpug (Meirion) today and ask him to PM you. He has put an RS engine in a ZX with the same engine as yours so should be able to help.If it was a D9 it would be a real battle, but the D8 should be ok. Certainly the engine will go in, but I'm not sure there is much point using the 6 speed box. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Thanks for the reply, was only interested in the 6 speed box as the final drive ratio on the normal box is a bit naff really. The 406 always feels like it needs another gear. I suppose using the better engine from the GTi-6 with the normal gearbox should be ok.Thanks |
