If it has "developed" a new noise, then I would imagine that this isn't right.Get it to a garage or diesel specialist and have them take a look to be on the safe side. ![]() Stan. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

Alot of HDI's have an injector tick, cant remember if it starts or stops at about 3200 rpm, if it either starts or stops there or there abouts its nothing to worry about. Quite well documented on other sites, have a search. |

It will be your Crankshaft pulley! The rubber that joins the inner and outer of the pulley breaks away. Common fault! They are only rated for 70k so recommended to be changed along with the cambelt. Get it changed before it goes. I've heard of cambelts slipping when it goes. Euro Car Part No: 300735070 |

The pulleys vary in price depending on where you go. Some OEM pulleys have been known to go again after short periods of time.70K was the life expectancy of most pulleys, thankfully mine went on the guy who sold me the car. ![]() You can change it yourself, it's not much harder than doing the alternator belt itself. For the record above, injector ticking stops at 3200 RPM. ________________________________________ I'm Si btw![]() Night Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper ![]() |
