Does anyone know if there's a gasket in the thermostat housing, where the coolant hose joins the housing?

Mine seems to be leaking and I don't want to take it apart until I establish whether I need to source a gasket and there's nowhere open on a Sunday to ask... Thanks

I think there's an 'O' ring. You need to order a radiator bottom hose one as it isn't listed for here.

Crap. Then looks like I might have cracked the housing by doing the bolts up too tight!

Cheers

theres a o ring between the pipe and plastic housing and a metal gasket between the metal housing(where bleed nipple is) and the head.

i hope it hasnt cracked too easy as i caught my dog with mine up the garden the other day, sneaky little shit had nicked it out of the garage on the sly.

I would imagine it is probably cracked if you have had it apart recently. Sad

The bolts do not have to be tightened up very much at all. No

Stan.

Think you're right. Replaced the thermostat the other day.

Nice, will give my local 'friendly' Pug dealers a bell then.

I did the same on my old E28 Bimmer the other day, just to make sure I'm not learning from my mistakes huh?
