I would be careful swapping these. They are line-bored and counter-bored to house the diff bearings as one assembly, like a head is line-bored for the cams, or a block is line bored for the crank. Using separate halves from 2 different boxes could result in premature diff bearing failure, or improper meshing of the teeth on the crown wheel/pinion. ________________________________________ Contact Details:rich@lynxpowerengineering.co.uk 07732 822546 |

ok, i did think that, but with the interchangeable bearings which as you'll agree are much more substantial tham main or big end bearings, im hoping that providing the bearings are tight and shimmed up correctly and that it sits tight and flush with no leaks it'll be ok. i guess if its out of line the first thing to fail will be the diff seals as they will be the softest part and most easily pushed out of shape. But i'll keep a very close eye on whats going on with it, ________________________________________ 205 XU10J4RS by PUG1OFF 236.4 BHP at Northampton Motorsport.Lets Race! |

Yeah, the bearings float in the steel outer races, which are a lot stronger than shells etc.It should be fine, most people don't bother shimming the bearings or putting some engineer's blue on the teeth to check the CWP mesh correctly, but do this and i'm sure everything will be in order. ________________________________________ Contact Details:rich@lynxpowerengineering.co.uk 07732 822546 |
