hey, i have a 2000 model 306 with a gti kit on it, i got a new exhaust fitted about 3 weeks ago and on the way out of the garage a red stop sign came on, and went off, later that day i got home and turned the car off and back on again, the temp was right up in the 100's but the 2 fans at the front didnt come on, i read that they were supposed to come on at 97degrees, also a closer inspeaction revealed that my radiator had a hole in it, so my radiator and my fans got replaced. the problem still presists though im not sure why.

on the front of my engine they is a plug and when i remove this the stop light goes off, i dont want to drive the car incase i damage it anymore, so basically i need a straight answer on why its doing it, also it isnt my head gasket, i can get more info i you would need me to, the pug dealer tells me nothing apart from its some switchs, although they have been repalce too

one more thing when i bought the car about 6 months ago it came with a diesel fan, just incase it means anything...

thanks you hope you can help

-Dave

Is the plug a blue one which plugs into a blue sensor on the power steering pipe?

Probably a bit of oil starvation. Mine did it during spirited cornering when the oil was on MIN.

Is it the brown plug on the thermostat housing?

It controls the radiator fans.

It's always worth checking for air locks in the system.

Unplugging the brown plug should result in the fans coming on slow and soon after, full. If this is not the case, the 'Bitron' unit under the passenger inner wing could be faulty.

If the temp stays low and the fans regulate it then it looks like it should be fine.

Also check your fuses, I had a fuse go which stopped one of the fans (high speed) kicking in. Make sure nothing's blown and if temps are staying low then there shouldn't be a problem.

One thing to note about Peugeot = Shite electrics!! Thumbs up
