Hi, Can anyone tell me how to get the oil pump off the chain? I have removed the Three 11mm bolts but cant get it off. Thanks |

you need to tilt it and wiggle and it comes out.angle the top towards the block |

You need to slide out the 'L' shape washer that is underneath it, they do slide out, and once out will give you enough leverage to get the pump off the chain....Just make sure you remember to put it back again on removal, this 'L' washer/plate is VERY IMPORTANT to to survival of the engine.... Apparently not all gti6's have them in How is this possible? I have checked on Servicebox, and found that there is only one oil pump chain listed for all phases's of the XU10J4RS engine. If you remove this 'L' shape washer then you will incur more slack in the chain. Also, the oil pump retaining bolts will tend to "bottom out" in there holes and the oil pump will simply circulate oil through it and back to sump during operation, rendering engine damage fairly quickly.
