Just wondering if my Rallye or any of our cars are OBD-II Compatibile?

I have seen some nice little electronic gizmos on the market that would provide some excellent information Yes

nope, they're an in-betweeny pain in the arsey one that so far only Peugeot's own stuff will read it properly.

I spoke to a guy that parked up with us at uxbridge Autoshow on the weekend who is looking at how these work with a view to making a tool to do the job, didn't get his contact details unfortunately, I do know he's a member of Club Peugeot UK and drives an R-reg 604 V6 SL Auto, there's not many of those around so he should be easy to find LOL he lives fairly local to the area IIRC (Uxbridge that is)

He did mention he wanted to find someone local with a 6/rallye to see how the protocols etc work and would try to get up to the Ace cafe last night.

Main issue is that most OBD readers will only find the faults that bring the management light on, there's a multitude of other faults that could be stored without brining the light on.

Thanks for the reply, i thought they didnt really work but wasnt sure Doh

Would be interesting to see how this chap gets on, i guess if you could convert the pug data into normal data that all OBD-II equipment could read then you may be able to get some interesting info such as sensor readings and all sorts Smile

I will see if i can track down his car, as you say its not exectly common No Smile

I am talking to this guy. Last night, he has logged some data from my car to work on.
He has all my contact details and will be in touch if/when he needs the car again.

The prototype tool is talking to our cars. He is now getting some made for the next stage of testing. I am expecting to hear from him when it is going to be available, but as he is doing it in his free time – the progress is slow.

I posted a while ago about the knockoff Peugeot software on ebay which would probably work but is a bit of a risk.

I've also got an autel fr704 which will read and clear stored codes from the ecu including ones which don't turn the engine management light on.

Unfortunately it doesn't read live data which is the function I really want.

Anyone got anymore information about live information reading from the gti?

If not is there any aftermarket ECU kits for the car that will give live readout?

I have searched but only came up with this thread on reading ecu fault codes via obd port?

Are there any other solutions out there?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but as others said there doesn't seem to be any other thread about it.

What was the outcome of the prototype that would talk to the 6?

Can anyone tell me if I'm hoping a bit too much to read anythign from a Ph.2 Gti-6 engine in a Ph.3 306 cab?
I had a bluetooth ELM327 reader which worked on my cab, but now I've swapped the engine to the 6 it can't read anything. I understand this is because te Ph.2 was not OBD at all.
What reader (if any) can read fault codes from the ph.2 (or any 306 for that matter), and if there is one, does it reset the airbag error light?

Thanks Andy

PP2000 afaik is what you want, available from ebay for £70 ish, you need an XP laptop, pref with serial port but they will work via usb.

no idea if it will do abs or airag faults, but to re set those just fix the fault and leave the battery off for a bit.

AdamB has one and a PH2 gti6, worth asking if he has tried it yet.

I bought a lexia 3 scanner which is both Peugeot Planet and Lexia (citroen) for use from an xp laptop.

Will only work on a copy of xp. Managed to get it working and talking to my brothers HDi 110 Xsara VTR, was picking up all sorts of codes and information about the car.

But then went to try it on my 6 and it came up with

'It is not possible to run Peugeot Planet 2000 for the following reasons'

-Peugeot planet interface is not connected to the usb port of your pc
-Peugeot planet interface is being used by another application

So im stumped.

From what I gather Peugeot planet was a lot easier to get working when it was just that stand alone software but it runs from a management program called 'Diagbox' now which asks if you wish to use Lexia or PP when you open that up.

Pain in the fecking arse.

Wheres Niall, can you help!?

Try plugging the interface in another usb socket.

You can always download an older copy of peugeot planet.

Incidentally, I have a peugeot planet interface for sale

Did try unplugging the cable from usb then reinserting it into same usb with no improvement!

Any idea where to get another copy of PP from Smegal?

I downloaded what I thought was it 'PP 2000 21.14' but upon opening the RAR file theres literally about 2000 files in there and not sure which one is the executable installation one
