how hard is it to fix electric windows. my brother slammed my car door while getting out. and it sound like some fell apart inside the door and now it won't wind the window up or down. when you try to put the window up it trys to push the door card out ________________________________________ Moonstone GTI-6, 18" Mim Technomagnesio Detroit, 3" round Magnatex back box |

sounds to me like the regulator motor housing has come loose if its pushing out just below the handle on the door card, all this will need is a bolt or two. Failing that it will be one of the clips on the window which will now require a new regulator but normally the window will just drop if this has happened.________________________________________ Team Nigelselling up!! |

You've broken the green clip. it's a common occurance on these. easiest way to fix it is to replace the whole regulator. I got a 2nd hand one off here for ________________________________________ ps3 i.d kyamtobyEx GTi-6 owner |

Are you sure it is the green clip? It could be the black rubber grommet which secures over the green clip. They go brittle and split and fall off. A sign this is happening is Window Judder. photo thanks to sport1901966 This thread should be moved to Exterior. |

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd bump this one.My window keeps popping off the green clip. I'm guessing it's because the rubber bung/spring clip combo is old and tired and therefore not holding the green clip properly. When ordering the bung does it come with a new spring clip? ________________________________________ Ph2.5 Nile - Slowly trying to de-East London it and restore to former glory...Built on the 9 Febuary 1999 - Tuesday's car..is full of pace?
