I think the 180 has a fly by wire throttle, and some other electrical changes. Not the easiest of swaps, but I guess it will be lighter.________________________________________ Spanner Monkeys Monkey SpannerForum Search Clicky |

funny that, they hit 60 and 100 as quick as the gti6edit, found some stats 0-60 7.1, 0-100 20.6. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

welshpug! wrote: funny that, they hit 60 and 100 far quicker than a gti6 as far as I can remember! Definitely not. Had a play from a slip road, second gear with a friend. Both cars were boggo standard. The six pulled a little more than a car length or so by about 80, stayed there until around 120, then both cars levelled out top end. He bought a GTi-6 three months later. ________________________________________ Hit the limiter in 6th gear at 169mph (GPS - TomTom on the German autobahn). Still pulling like a train too. the EW10J4S is a nice engine with more power and torque, worth of a transplant if you want to be different IMO.the EP6DTS would be a right PITA to get into a 205, soooo many sensors apparently! ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I cant see the point of changing to a 180 engine at all. Money could be far better spent elsewhere!________________________________________ 2.1 16v 306 Rallye. |

Stick with the 6, Its not scientific but any 180 i have encountered has always been slower on acceleration and on top end despite the facts and figures resulting in a local lad selling the 180 for a 6.________________________________________ Any 6 owners from Dumfries on here ???? daviewonder wrote: Depends if you enjoy the challenge of doing a conversion thats not that common I agree - if it's being done to be original and for the challange then fair play. However, it doesn't make that much sense as an improvement to the 6 imo. ________________________________________ Chris - Phase 3 Moonstone GTi 6 |

for an engine thats supposed to have more power and in a lighter car not being able to beat the heavier less powerful opponent is evidence enough isnt it?________________________________________ H-t-i-d ... weapon of mass cunsumption |
