A well looked after engine should be able to cope with NOS.

Some of the guys are running 400-500 bhp on their engines so you shouldn't worry about the extra 50-75 + bhp you will get from NOS.

/Offtopic - I Saw an old mini with an open back (sorry for the shit description) in southend recently, running NOS, huge can of it on the back all wired in, you could hear it when he accelerated.

Funnyest thing i've seen in a long time

It could blow the welds on the intake

Whistle

If its done properly and isnt running stupid amounts it should be fine, Fletch ran 75 and 100 shots I think on standard internals, He could be worth a pm

i have used nitrous on 2 different cars in the past, both where vauxhalls fitted with the c20xe redtop engine.

i used a wizards of nos kit on both occasions and ran 50bhp full hit without a controller, a properly set up kit with the correct jetting shouldnt cause any problems on a heathly engine.

just make sure you use decent 98+ octane fuel too as this helps reduce the risk of det when on gas.

I used 100hp nitro for over two years on drags and the engine still runs like a dream!

(it's a Xsara VTS btw. don't know how can a 6 cope with it Whistle LOL )

Stick to a wet kit and you should be fine. However be careful your passenger footwell doesn't fall out spontaneously Yes

I know that guy with the mini pick-up... It's ballistic! Razz
This thread is interesting! I am pretty tempted to go this route!
Didn't even realise people were putting nos on these engines...
I guess it would work pretty well when coupled with throttle bodies... Smile

Forgive me if this is a silly question but doesn't running NOS slowly erode the exhaust and cylinder / head / valves / piston etc due to the nitric acid created?

Just what someone once told me and i've never really looked into it myself to find out for sure. Dunno
