alcon wrote: Hi Ben, always enjoy reading your posts, even though I'm not particularly into track prepared 306's, it's still an interesting read. Knockhill is a good track, challenging but short and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. What date are you going up in November?....if possible, I could pop along with my mate and meet up as Knockhill's not that far from us. Is it a phase 1 or 2 VTS rack you've got there? I've got a phase 2 which is going into my rallye so the pipework is swap over job as well. We are up there Saturday 18th November. Me, Mark (sorrento205) and Mike (Mike306) are all booked on. My inlaws all live Lanarkshire way so I've been meaning to give knockhill a go for a while and this falls well as Im up there the friday for a gig in Glasgow. Its a phase 2 rack but got the pipework with it so hopefully a straight forward job for an afternoon. I just need to order some inner tie roads and TRE's as I may as well put fresh on before fitting it. ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

So picked myself up a parts car, bodywork is very rough but very clean chassis so I can get a number of cuts from it that I need/want to make good the rallye in the future. Also means I can box up a number of spares as we know how hard to get hold of parts for these things now.I'll then plan to sell off parts Im not keeping/using to get some of my cash back ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

I also fitted the VTS rack. Cleaned up and refurbished it with new tie roads/TRE's.String lined it and sorted the tracking. Im on the limits of one of the TRE's so have had to remount the subframe/rack and little further over as it mustnt have been central. Also fitted the "non squeal" Tarox disks that I've had on the shelf for 18 months as there was a bit of a gap until the next trackday, I can confim, they still squeal, perhaps not as bad but I also swapped the pads out for more road friendly ones. They will be getting swapped back to my usual setup for Knockhill next month Then had to take it out for a bit of a test run with the new rack on the local B roads. Was all going fine until it blew off one of the new hoses, failed clip!!! What a drive back thats was with short rack, no power steering and winding country roads, 3 degree camber etc Anyhow better clips fitted and now just need to find a few hours to head back out in it again. Need to make sure its all good to go before Knockhill (would be a long drive back without power steering) and we've also booked Anglesey now for just before Christmas to see the year out. ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Look good Ben. Smart move buying a parts car too! I look forward to hearing how you get on with the new rack on track. |

Run it parallel, tracking wise. A little 'twitchie' or 'tramline' on uneven roads but not enough to bother me, felt it more since fitting the quicker steering rack. ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Great, have spoox ones in mine at the moment (where on when i bought the car) but don't fit properly so i think i am going to sell these on and get the baker ones as they look about as good as i can get. |

From all the ones I looked at, the Baker ones certainly looked the best quality. Along with the adjustment in them giving more over a lot of the others out there that might only allow 1 or 2 degrees.________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

So me and Mark headed up to a very wet Knockhill the other week. Unfortunately Mike ended up having issues and parking up his car just over the border into Scotland but still managed to get up for a few passanger runs.Belting circuit, preferred it in reverse (format was normal way round in the Morning and reverse in the afternoon) Go to try out the VTS rack for the first time and it was needed at a few points. Stuck with a semi slick track tyre despite the rain which made it interesting at times. Would head back up there again. Anglesey in a few weeks and then already started getting a few in the diary for next year with Oulton booked for the first weekend in Feb. Few captures of it sideway ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Well yesterday we saw out the year with another banger of a day at Anglesey. 2 rallyes, a xsara vts and a legends race car.Managed to get in some belting sessions, cars all played nice. Been another good one this year for tracktime with some new circuits ticked off and already booking a few in the calander for the new year. ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Well managed to get a more track time in so far this year. But in doing the usual check over and bleed up of the brakes, I had the fun of a snapped bleed nipple. Luckily I had a spare rear caliper to swap out ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Then we got to Oulton last month. First time there, why I've left it so long to go I dont know, fantastic circuit and another to become a regular. Got a bit close to the markers, taking a few out with my wing mirrors. And Mike went full drift on us. My day finished with a minor mechanical when my wiper arm decided to snap in 2 and do one. It did however give me chance to get a quick snap of Marks spitting some flames ________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |

Aintree next month and Croft in May. Possibly a 3 sisters evening thrown in as well but would be good to try and get a few others in the diary.________________________________________ My 306 Rallye Project ThreadFew recent Youtube track videos, more on my channel Pair of Rallye's doing a few laps of Anglesey Lap of Anglesey Coastal 3 sisters circuit Few laps at Blyton |
