Got a 205 Gti Project im currently working on and the passenger side door catch isnt opening. Looks like its jammed as it isnt locked and the door handle is opening and is still connected to the catch. Normally I would just take off the 3 hex bolts opff to remove the catch and replace it but the door is closed shut and the catch wont open! Please could someone help me so I dont end up destroyig the door and causing myself more work!

Any help much appreciated

Remove the door card and see if the wire is pulling the catch. You can stick your hand in and activate it that way.
