Sorry, posting here as I currently don't have access to post in the "Interior" forum.

I have a 206 GTi 180 ('04 plate), and cannot fold down my rear seats - I cannot lift up the bottom ones, to fold the back down. Is there a cord / handhold hidden under the seat(s) that I would need to pull, and they feel like they are "locked" in and won't lift. It's never really bothered me that much but I need to utilise the extra room it would give me very soon.

P.S. Just registered, so hello to all.

Yes there is a loop at the back that you pull up.

Pull harder you puff.

you need to pull the rear bench out. it's in 2 pieces, 60/40 split. there's a little cord near the seatbelt attached to the bench which you lift up and pull the bench forward. then the rear back seats will fold down after pressing the button in the corner of the seat

    simples

I cannot find a loop, on either seat, it's probably been tucked underneath. I have pushed the rear seat backs down, and looked from the boot to see if I could find the loops, and still nothing. So, without those loops I cannot lift the seats up?

I'm sorry, I know I sound stupid, but I have already tried that. They feel like they're locked in place, like the loop would unlatch the seat, they're unmovable.

Are you folding the seats down to make the car go faster? I had this same problem once, turned out I had a small boy trapped down the back of the seats.

There is a hole under the seat and a bar sticking up which holds it in the correct place. It sounds like someone has probably bent this at some point putting it down at the wrong angle and it is getting caught on the enlarged end when you are pulling.

Undo the nuts at the front of the base and lift back from under there if they won't budge.

Found it! There are no loops. You have to put your hand under the front of the seats and pull forward, then they lift up.

    Thanks for you help.
