Those are for non-strut coilovers - they slide onto the shaft and then seat on a thrust washer at the top, the recess allows the use of every last bit of travel without coil bind - all 16 inches ![]() They're in 7075 to get the maximum amount of offset though, so not all that cheap. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. After all the fuss and bother, what was actually needed from whom to make this work? Tophat thingies from Compbrake, aren't on their website but phone them up? Then what's all this machining stuff about bullcrap? Ta doods. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

For KW V2s...Remove the spacer from the damper thread. It does come off but is threadlocked and tight. Order some 60mm top spring mounts/pans direct from KW as KW use metric (KW part number is 65030056 I believe but check). Fit with top-hat nuts & washer included with top-mount. ![]() ________________________________________ Clio 182 FF |

Have you use thrust bearings betwean the top perch and the spherical bearing( or do you rely on the spherical bearing for stearing rotation?)________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

Woohoo! Nice one people, I'll get those tops ordered up. So no need to get the tools out on anything, should be possible with stock parts? ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Right, so the bits arrived from KW just now. What appeared to initially be the wrong part is actually, I believe, a redesign:![]() The reasons I think they're correct is threefold. Firstly, they have the correct part number (65030056) printed on them. Secondly, I sent a picture from the previous page of the blue ones to the KW guy, who confirmed the part number. Thirdly, although they don't actually look right, they still do the job and don't interfere with the top mount at all: ![]() So okay, they seem to be right. However only thing that seems weird is that the hole in the top doesn't seem to be the same size as the bearing at all, but close enough that it seems maybe they should be. Is this right? If it is (and it's just that's how they sit onto the bearing) then there only seems to be about a 2mm ring of the part in contact with the top mount bearing. Does that seem right? Will the coilovers somehow hold these central on the bearing? I'm sure it'll make sense once I get the coilovers off the car, just struggling to imagine how it all goes together... ![]() ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

You should have these with the mounts?![]() It goes underneath the bearing. The top spring pan should sit against these ________________________________________ Clio 182 FF |

Yup, got one of those on each side, which are sat as illustrated inside the bottom of the bearing. However the top pan is then underneath that, and that's the bit that doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe it will once I've got the coilover on. Trackday on Sat, then I'll whip them off. Cheers mate. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
