Next on the list was trying to fulfill an urge that has been with me for the majority of the time I have been interested in cars.. throttle bodies
I bought a fell 45mm kit from Jenvey to have fitted to my car. I also bought an ECU but in the 13 months I had this sitting in my room, I never had the cash/time spare to get it all fitted and set up. I then decided to sell, and spend the money elsewhere on the car. Still think it's a bad move, but hope Velar gets good use out of them
With trackdays in mind, I set about making some changes.
Brakes:
I decided to stick with standard brakes (I intended on using C5 steelies, so bigger brakes was not an option) Instead I decided to go for Mintex 1144 pads, new discs, braided brake lines and new fluid, and I have to say I am very happy with the setup.
Seats:
My mate was getting rid of some Cobra seats and harnasses, so £50 exchanged hands and we're onto a winner. I bought some subframes off here for about £60, and jobs a gudden.
Weight Loss:
As I had already fitted the PAS relocation kit (for TB's) the aircon had already been removed. I have also made the following weight loss;
- Spare wheel and cage
- airbags/ecu removed
- rear seats and panels
- centre console
I will be removing all the front carpets too when I get a chance.
Additional:
- OMP suade steering wheel
- Mocal oil cooler
- Set of sticky tyres (r888 front, yoko ao48 rear)
