no cage, that'll add a good 40 kilos.

maxi's were around 920-950 kilos with a proper cage.

rully running car, i still have airbags to remove, bonnet, a/c. there is abit more weight to get rid of, not sure where else i could loose weight unless i go for plastic windows, fiberglass tailgate un-needed wires ect. as for a cage not sure if i will bother with one just yet, that will come after the new year.

The head wasnt warped mate or cracked, i know that much, you may have cooked it, but the head itself had been pressure tested and checked out, so probly the block although it was ment to be good as bought of a guy thats sound, so dunno whats up hope its just the head gasket, you use new bolts or the old bolts?

I do think chris as previously said on the phone its the block thats cracked..... its gassing up quite quickly and building up enough pressure to blow a rad hose off.... i can't see what else it can be! Unsure

if the HG was the wrong way round then the oul wouldnt pass through from the head to tho bottom end. i mae sure the HG was on the correct way, could have damaged the HG when i was putting the head on but will have to see when i take it appart

I think chris used new bolts gasket etc, as previously said i believe the Block is cracked as the head ran okay on a previous engine, and the rate at which its pressuring up and indeed the pressure its achieving points to a leakage off a cylinder, possibly the gasket but personally i'd say more likely to be a crack between a bore and the water jacket..... i'll be interested out find out what it is when he does find out just for the interest of it! Hope you get it sorted soon chris! Roll eyes

He never used new bolts i dont think as he was at me about bolts i had lying about so im sure he never.

He wont get to find out what the problem was as its my engine, and unless he is buying it to make an other engine he isint breaking it down as ive got a spare block and i will break it down to fit to the block.

well the 6 is still sitting outside my house. havnt even looked at it yet and to be honist cant realy be bothered. might just wait and save for a new engine. not sure if a garage could tell me the problem? headgasket of crack in block/warped head... only way to realy tell is to take it apart and have a good look but i cant be bothered with it at the minute.

since my last post my fiberglass bonnet has turned up Cool fitted it at the weekend. i had it made so i could fit it to the standard bonnet hinges what i think wasnt the best idea as the bonnet is too light and after i clove the bonnet i have to push the hinges down so the bonnet sits flat LOL maybe i could i will try and get pics up tomorrow
