Try unplugging the brown temp sensor to see if the fans then come on. If they do, the temp sensor is gone. If only one comes on, one fan could be gone, one relay could be faulty, or the 'Bitron' unit faulty. If your air-con works, turn that on to see if both fans work at half speed.________________________________________ S Reg Diablo standardsSpec SORNEDR Reg Nile standard spec written off then repaired X Reg Astor in need of TLC R Reg Nile to restore Set of Lions to fit. |

When you pull the brown sensor, both fans should kick in on low speed then a few seconds later both should go to high speed if alls well.If you only get the left hand one or none, check the relays which are located behind your grill in a funny square shaped black box above/inbetween the fans. Inside you will see two green relays and one black relay box. Pull each one out to see if they have shorted out(maybe the right hand one IIRC), and or replace with some working ones. Failing that unscrew the connector which is on the bottom right of the rad and clean the connectors best you can. Thats a rough guide to how i sorted mine on my 6 so cant be too differant a priciple on your 6 matey. Apart from the above is where you have to get the fans out and test them to see if they are working/or change the Bitron unit which is located in the front left wheel arch at the top left as you look into the arch. Hope that helps you out matey ________________________________________ "Gotta Love The 6"According to my wife i think the 6 is the fastest car in the world, perhaps she is right LoL ! |

how do you bridge it so they work of the air-con button? I tried swaping the green relays but nothing has changed so i have just left my brown plug unpluged so the driver side fan runs all the time________________________________________ Clicky: click here remove the space between [url & = |

Chris, There's a brown sensor behind the drivers headlight which connects onto a pipe (air con i assume), you want to bridge pins 1 and 3 if i remember rightly...When you press the A/C button in the car the fans should come on. I will double check tomorrow and let you know unless anyone confirms this before hand. You might want to disconnect the compressor also lol________________________________________ EX Bianca 6 owner,Now drives: Octavia vRS |

got round to bridging 1 and 3 on the air-con plug so i can run my fan(s) of the AC button to find only the driver side fan works. still no passanger side fan!!!i dridged the plug on the fans where 1 of the relays goes and both fans worked so changed the relay and that still didnt sort it so there must be something not triggering the relay for the passanger side fan. any ideas? ________________________________________ Clicky: click here remove the space between [url & = |

Instead of 1 and 3, bridge1 and 2. What happens?? should be both fans at low speed. When you pull the brown plug out does the drivers side fan only come on at high speed??? I know you probably have but have you checked fuse 7 in the compartment in the car?? ________________________________________ Team High Boost Supercharged Gti-6™ |
